Take-Off for Inspiration in SAP® EAM

On 7th May at the DSAG AK meeting on Maintenance Management at Munich Airport Academy, everything revolved around SAP® EAM, digital maintenance, and the future of asset management.

Especially exciting:

Many new features in the 2025 FPS01 release have been introduced, and SAP® is investing heavily in the further development of Joule (AI).

Furthermore, it became clear how important APM is as a precursor system to EAM when sensor-based maintenance is to be effectively utilised.

A real highlight was the personal exchange between SAP® product managers, customer and consulting companies, and the DSAG as host. It became clear once again:

This direct exchange, exciting discussions, and networking cannot be replaced by any AI.​

Welcome to the team!

We are very pleased to welcome our new colleague, Thilo Schmidt, to the team.

Thilo is an experienced SAP Lead Development Consultant with over 23 years of professional experience in SAP development.

Throughout his career, he has gained extensive expertise in various modules, including SD, MM, PP, QM, CS/SM, PM/EAM, FI, and CO, with his particular focus being on GTS.

His core competencies include the development of customised programmes, enhancements (User Exits, BAdIs, BTEs), as well as form development using SAPscript, SmartForms, and Adobe Forms.

A particular focus of his work is on the development of interfaces using modern technologies such as SOAP, OData, SAP CPI, IDocs, BAPIs, and RFCs. His profile is further complemented by solid experience in customisation.

We are very much looking forward to working together and warmly welcome Thilo to the team!

We were back again! 

On 14th April 2026, we were represented at the Service Management working group of the DSAG.

The day offered many exciting insights around SAP S/4HANA Service Management:

The focus was on concrete experiences from practice as well as the exchange of current challenges and solutions in service management.

Two intensive days focused on S/4HANA Service, returns & repair processes, intercompany, and value prototyping are behind us – with many strong insights from practice and product development.

My highlight: The combination of best practices, real customer insights, and a clear roadmap clearly demonstrates how much service processes in S/4HANA gain in maturity and speed.

Smart people in a smart world

 – under this motto, condevia IT was at the Economic Forum of the Canton of Schwyz.

Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing the software world – ERP systems are also increasingly using smart algorithms to optimise processes, accelerate analyses, and make work more efficient.

However, one thing remains unchanged: The expertise and judgement of experienced consultants cannot be replaced by a machine. AI supports us, taking on routine tasks and providing valuable insights, but strategic decision-making and personal advice will always remain human core competencies.

How do you see the role of AI in relation to ERP software? Opportunity or risk?

When practice meets theory.

Sometimes, as a consultant with years of practical experience in the service sector, one wonders: "Does what I recommend and advise my clients correspond to what is expected of an SAP® consultant in terms of theoretical knowledge?"

With the fresh certification in SAP® Service Management, it seems that theory is aligning with practice, and I am looking forward with curiosity to the developments in the new service for my customers and partners.
